meet the faces of Sweethearts
Let me give you the low down on the things that make me the girl I am…
Sweethearts is my childhood dream that I was lucky enough to turn into a reality.
I’m a one woman show and absolutely okay with it since I get to be a part of everything that happens in this little shoppe of mine.
Now truth be told, I really dislike, okay fine, hate, the dishwasher part of my job title, but I’ve learned to accept it. I guess you have to take the good with the bad, huh?
I’m married to Aaron and mama to twin gray kitties, Milo and Molly, and a golden retriever puppy, Tucker (learn more about them below)
I am a HUGE! homebody. My idea of a good time is snuggling Milo, Molly and Tucker or just puttering around the house.
Now while I love being at home, I also enjoy an evening spent laughing with family, friends, good food and a bottle of wine (sweet, please).
I have naturally curly hair. Bet you didn’t know that as my hair is usually in a ponytail for baking.
Food is pretty important to me. My day is typically planned around my next meal. Once I finish one meal, my thoughts generally go to what I'm going to be having next. I just don’t like to be unprepared when it comes to eating.
Hot tea is amazing! I start every day with a cup while feeding my kitties and puppy and have several more cups throughout the day.
In case you haven’t figured this out, I'm going to let you in on a little secret… dessert is my favorite! A good ole' classic cupcake, but only with a smidge of frosting, like vanilla with vanilla buttercream or chocolate with chocolate buttercream, is my go to. Now if it’s pumpkin season then it’s a different story and I’ll take a pumpkin spice cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese buttercream, please.
Blueberry pie (my Aunt Alice’s) and corner brownies are my second favorite desserts.
Fuzzy socks and blankets. Do I need to say more?!
Being in the kitchen is very calming and relaxing to me. Except for the dish washing thing.
I read cookbooks like most people would a storybook. Gooseberry Patch Cookbooks are my favorite. They are full of good ole’ home cookin’ recipes and nifty little tips and craft ideas. It’s like getting multiple books in one.
I don’t wear aprons, which explains why I usually have frosting on my shirt. While they serve a great purpose, I’m not the most graceful and constantly get the strings caught on doorknobs and such. So, for me, they just end up being a hazard.
